The Carmal Matha Shanthi Bhavan is an orphanage run under the auspices of the Carmal Matha Trust and has been associated with the state and central governments under the Ministry of HR Development for rehabilitation of street children and also participates in a joint venture with the Center for Environment and Development under the Ministry of Environmen, Government of India.

The Bhavan has also submitted a project to Kerala State AIDS Control Society and TAHA (Trafficking and HIV AIDS) in association with UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) Wayanad being one of the educationally and economically backward places in Kerala is also the homeland of the ancient tribes of Kattunayakkans and Cholanayakkans. Carmal Matha Shanthi Bhavan along with the rehabilitation of street kids is also focusing on various tribal development activities.
